Appointment by the Inter-American Development Bank to advise on developing a bank resolution framework for the prevention, coordination and intervention during a regional financing crisis.

Dr. Reto Schiltknecht, of Geissbuehler Weber & Partner AG (“GWP Group”) based in Zurich, and Eamonn White, of Ardhill Advisory LTD (“Ardhill”) based in London, are delighted to be appointed by the Inter-American Development Bank (“IADB”) under its Bank Regional Cooperation Program for the Development of Resolution Framework for the Regional Financing Crisis (link).

The IADB established this program to support the development of a Resolution Framework for the prevention, coordination and intervention during a regional financing crisis. We look forward to the close collaboration with the participating institutions (the Central Bank of Brazil, the Central Bank of Argentina, the Superintendence of Banks and Financial Institutions of Chile, the Central Bank of Paraguay, the Corporation for the Protection of Bank Savings of Uruguay, and the Central Bank of Uruguay) as part of this project in 2023. This advisory project will have a particular focus on the development of the resolution valuation processes necessary to develop a regional financial crisis resolution framework in Latin America.

This partnership will leverage GWP Group’s and Ardhill’s extensive experience with financial safety nets, crisis management and bank resolution frameworks both on a domestic and international level to support the important work of developing a Latin America approach to cross-border resolution regime.
